DockToAI · Photo Count

Privacy Policy

This policy explains how the Photo Count iPhone app processes information when you use AI-assisted carton counting. Photo Count is provided by DockToAI, operated by Esther Ho.

Effective date: July 22, 2026

1. Information we process

Photos and images. When you take a photo, choose an image from your library, or use the built-in sample, Photo Count sends that image to DockToAI's server for AI-assisted carton detection. A photo may contain information that you choose to include in the frame. Please do not submit confidential material or images you do not have permission to use.

Count inputs. If you enter an expected count, it is transmitted with the image so the app can calculate the difference between the expected and detected totals.

Technical and security information. Our server may process an IP address, request time, request path, and a shortened cryptographic hash derived from the IP address. We use this information for daily rate limiting, service reliability, security, and abuse prevention.

2. How we use information

We use the information described above only to:

  • provide AI-assisted carton counting and return detection boxes, confidence, and count results;
  • compare a detected count with an expected count when you provide one;
  • operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the reliability of the service; and
  • enforce reasonable usage limits and prevent abuse.

3. AI processing and service providers

DockToAI uses infrastructure and AI inference service providers to process requests on our behalf. Images are transmitted over HTTPS and are provided to those services only as needed to return the requested count. DockToAI does not use submitted photos for advertising, does not sell them, and does not use them to build advertising profiles.

4. Retention

Uploaded images are temporary. Under normal operation, the server deletes its temporary image copy as soon as the counting request finishes. If processing is interrupted, service cleanup checks remove any remaining temporary image after it becomes more than 24 hours old.

Daily rate-limit records contain only a shortened IP hash, the UTC date, and a request count. Records from prior days are purged during subsequent service activity. Standard server logs may be retained for a limited period as reasonably necessary for security, reliability, and troubleshooting.

5. Sharing and disclosure

We do not sell personal information. We may share information with service providers that host or operate the counting service, subject to their role in providing the requested functionality. We may also disclose information if required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect users, DockToAI, or the security of the service.

Photo Count does not include third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.

6. Camera and photo-library access

Photo Count requests camera or photo-library access only when you choose to take or select a photo. You can change these permissions at any time in iOS Settings. The app does not scan your photo library in the background.

7. Your choices

You can use the built-in sample instead of submitting a personal image, avoid including people or sensitive information in a photo, revoke camera or photo-library permissions, or stop using the service. For privacy questions or requests, contact us using the email below.

8. Children's privacy

Photo Count is a business utility and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Security and international processing

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including encrypted HTTPS transport and access controls. Information may be processed in countries where our infrastructure or service providers operate. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Photo Count or its service providers change. We will post the updated policy on this page and revise the effective date.
